There are thirteen pieces in the Handel’s Messiah Collection. I searched for visual depiction of a raw organic material present during ancient times. Created with colored pencil and paint and sealer on a high quality illustration board, the pieces are bordered with carefully placed gold and silver leaf then mounted on 16 x 20 stretched burlap canvas. These are beautiful as a collection or individual. The contrast between gold and burlap are relevant in our understanding that Christ was born a king in a rough and dark cave.
